The Universoul Circus is looking for resumes of potential truss spot operators to join our production crew for the remainder of the 2010 touring season, which ends after Thanksgiving.

Applicants must be comfortable climbing to heights of 40 feet, and be familiar with the safe operation and use of vertical and horizontal fall protection. As a part of the production crew our truss spot operators assist with the setup and maintenance of the lighting and audio equipment. These jobs include, but not limited to working load in and load out, lighting focus, fixture swaps/maintenance, and last minute rehearsals.

This is a great learning experience for anyone seeking experience in a hectic and harsh touring environment. Many former production staff have moved on to work with well know tours and production companies. The Universoul Circus has toured 10 months of the year for the past 17 years. We travel with our own venue, and our lighting rig includes VL3000s, Studio Series 575 spot and washes, DL.3s, Versa Tiles, and Hog 3 control software and Axon Media Servers.

Be aware this is not an easy tour. Our shows play in parking lots, grass lots and dirt lots. The temperature at the follow spot locations can get up to 110 deg during hot days and operators have access to cool vests to keep their core temperature down. As an employee of the Universoul Circus, Social Security, Federal, and State tax deductions are deducted each week. There is no per diem.

Spot Operators are expected to behave and dress in a professional manner (punctual, positive attitude, be a team player, all black clothing). Our Production Crew is a team. Our average weekly schedule is Monday travel day/Rigging, Tuesday load in with a show that evening, two shows a day weekdays, 3 shows Saturday, 3 shows Sunday and load out right after. Mondays are days off when we are not traveling. Travel is by coach bus. Hotel rooms are shared.
