ASSISTANT FACILITY MANAGER

Salary Range: $8.00 - $110.00/Hourly (Budgeted for $11.00 - $16.00/hour)
Work Schedule: Hours to be arranged; must be available for weekdays, weekends and/or evening performances; non-exempt classification.
Essential Functions: Under onsite supervision by the Staff Technical Director, and the general supervision of the Director of Production and Technical Services, the incumbent is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of the performing arts facilities, their contents, as well as facility users and patrons. Duties include but are not limited to: locking and unlocking facility; supervising student assistants during events; enforcing University policy and operating procedures; performing facility set up including stage preparation, installation of scenic elements, audio and lighting equipment setup, stage fly systems use and preparation; and performing other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications + Experience: Ability to adapt to daily operational changes; proven interpersonal and assertive communication; work well with others; greet and direct the general public to the various performing venues and facilities; understand basic fire safety codes regarding the performing venues; willingness and ability to be courteous and maintain a neat appearance as a representative of the University; and demonstrated ability and/or interest in working in a multicultural/multiethnic environment. This position may require fingerprint clearance from the California Department of Justice and the FBI.
Special Desired Qualifications: Equivalent to 1-2 years theatrical production education, training and/or experience in constructing, operating and maintaining stage equipment. Ability to work efficiently, effectively and agreeably under pressure; work independently; assume responsibility and supervise others; ability to manually lift up to 50 lbs.
