Bug Reports

I just logged in, and it says I didn't. Then I click on a link, and suddenly I am logged in. What's going on?

Note:  as of mid-October, 2007, we believe that we have fixed this problem with a new code update.  If you are experiencing this problem, please e-mail me by using the Contact link in the upper right corner of this page.

We don't know yet, but it's a known issue with how the cookie is being set. As you've discovered, clever question-asker, is that by clicking on a link after the failed login will jar the cookie into suddenly working again, without issue.

We're pretty sure this is a cookie issue since the problem tends to go away if you log out and then log back in WITHOUT clicking "remember me."

We've also heard reports that this a problem only in Firefox (both Mac and PC). Anyone disprove that yet?

I regestered successfully but when I enter my email address and password I can't go any further because the Login button, the click here link and password link do not work. I tried clicking active links on the page but still am unable to login. I am not using Firefox.

This is a separate bug, and one we haven't nailed down yet. I've posted it in a separate discussion while we work on it. It seems to be a problem in IE7 but not IE6. We thought we had fixed it in IE7 as well, but apparently not in all versions!
