How to post a Contact Sheet listing
1. We prefer that you be registered and logged in before posting your Contact Sheets listing. This will allow you to edit or delete your post at a later time. The webmaster will not edit any post for a listing posted by someone who did not register. It is currently possible to post a Contact Sheets listing without being registered, but it is not advised.
2. After logging in (or not, you have been warned...), click on the Submit A Listing link in the sidebar under Contacts.
3. The Submit a Contact Sheet Listing page will appear.
4. Enter your name as requested. First and last names are required. Please do not enter anything other than your name in these sections.
5. Enter your address. While not required, it does help employers if they know you are in their area. You may choose to keep your address private by checking the Keep My Address Private box underneath the address fields.
You are required to post at least one means of contacting you: address, phone, or e-mail. If you do not post at least one of these means of contacting you, you will not be listed (what is the point of posting a listing if employers have no way to reach you?).
6. Select a Region. Please select the applicable region that you are in from the ones listed in this pull-down menu. DO NOT SELECT A REGION YOU DO NOT CURRENTLY LIVE IN. If you cannot find your area/region in this list, select OTHER REGION. If you feel that your region has enough work available to warrent inclusion in this list, please contact me using the Contact link at the upper right of this FAQ page.
7. Enter your phone number, if you want it posted.
8. If you are posting a listing without logging in, enter your e-mail address here. Regardless, if you do not want your e-mail address posted in your Contact Sheet listing, please check the Keep My Email Private box.
9. Enter the URL of your website, if you have one. Do not post your MySpace page, LiveJournal, FaceBook, or other such Blog/friending pages here. You are trying to get work. No employer cares about how many "friends" you have, what background music you like on your site, or what type of Muppet you are.
10. Select all Job Categories that you are looking for. Hold down the Control key to select mulitiples. Do not chose general categories: be specific. You will have the opportunity to rank them on the next page.
11. If you are willing to go on tour, check the Willing to Tour box. If you are willing to travel to get to the job site (meaning out of your area), check the Willing to Travel box.
12.. Skills and Qualifications: Select all skills that you have from the menu. As before, hold down the Control key to select multiples. You will have the opportunity to rank them in order of strength on the next page. If there are skills that you feel are missing from this list, please contact me using the Contact link in the upper right of this FAQ page.
13. If you are currently a student, check the Currently Enrolled as a Student box. If you are a member of a union, check the Member of Union box. Please specify the union in the next section.
14. Please give a short summary of your experience. Include any addtional skills you have that were not available in the menu, the name of the union you belong to, if any, and any other information you think an employer should know about you. DO NOT POST YOUR RESUME HERE. This is not a resume posting site, it is for a quick look at what you can do and how to hire you. Do not repost your contact information here, especially no e-mail addresses.
15. Click Submit.
16. You now have the opportunity to rank the jobs you are looking for in terms of which ones you would prefer. Your top three will be posted in the header of your Contact Sheets listing, but all will be posted in the main part of your listing. 1 is the highest.
17. If you missed the Willing to Tour and Willing to Travel boxes on the last page, you have the chance to edit them here.
18. You can also rank your skills in order of strongest to weakest. 1 is strongest, 3 is average, 5 is weakest, but still a skill you have.
19 Double check the rest of your listing. Look for spelling or grammatical errors. Your listing reflects on you. Badly written or insanely long listings will be ignored by employers.
20. When you have ranked all the jobs you are searching for, ranked the skills that you have, and are satisfied with the rest of your listing, click Confirm.
21. Your listing is now posted, and should be at or near the top of the Contact Sheets listings. It will move down as new listings are added. Employers will be able to find it by searching by area, job type, and skills.
22. If you do nothing to your listing after posting it, it will expire after 2 years. The 2 year expiration is reset each time you update your listing. If you want to keep your listing posted, keep it up-to-date. Registered users can edit or delete their listing at any time.
