I would like to be considered for the costume designer position. I am a costumer with a strong background in research, attention to detail, movement, and over-all visuals. I possess a BFA in Costume Design from CalArts and worked at Universal Studios Costume Shop for 3 1/2 years. At Universal, I was sewing, pattern making, quick-rigging, creating body padding, doing special effects, millinery (hat making), cobblery (shoe making), distressing, dying, bead-work, and supervising teams of stitchers. In my latest feature, I designed and altered costumes for Ethan Embry, Michael Gladis, Clea DuVall, Cary Elwes, and Alan Arkin. My design career began as my dance teams had a need for performance costumes, so I understand movement and dancing/performing requirements from both a costumer and a performer perspective. I am dedicated to my work, timely, organized, personable, stay on budget, work well unsupervised, and do well under pressure. I have my own kit, sewing machines, steamer, racks, passport, etc. I have attached my resume for your consideration. My portfolio is available online at http://ericadschwartz.com/, and my IMDB link is at http://www.imdb.com/name/nm2420650/.
I hope to hear from you soon, as I am sure I would become an asset to your team. Thank you for your time.
