CITY OF LANCASTER invites applications for Temporary Part-Time Employment For: STAGE ASSISTANT II - AUDIO ENGINEER The Lancaster Performing Arts Center (LPAC) is located in the Antelope Valley, and is owned and operated by the City of Lancaster. LPAC consists of a 758 seat main stage proscenium theatre and the 110 seat J. P. Eliopulos Family Theatre. LPAC presents over 200 performances annually of musicals, comedy, Country, Bluegrass, Celtic, Rock, Ballet, Modern dance, Symphony, Choral productions and produces in-house productions in July and December, along with working outdoor venues in April, July, August and October. The Position: The Stage Assistant II/Audio Engineer acts as audio crew head for LPAC and rental productions. The qualified candidate shall perform all of the following duties under the supervision of the Technical Director, which include, but are not limited to: set up of sound reinforcement, including microphones, cable and monitors for live music acts; act as monitor or house engineer; set up and operate playback and reinforcement for theatre, opera, meetings, choral concerts, dance, symphony, jazz, country, pop, variety shows and city events; maintain audio equipment; be responsible for activities of assigned workers. Additional duties may include, but are not limited to: assisting in light hang and focus, unloading/loading trucks, rigging, and theatre maintenance. The qualified candidate must be willing to work extended week day hours, weekends, evening hours and some holidays. Minimum Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have three years of professional audio mixing experience with emphasis on live event mixing; or a combination of relevant experience and education; the ability and desire to work and interact well with a diverse group of people; must have a "can-do" attitude with flexibility, and possess a valid California driver’s license.
