Misc: DCTC seeks dedicated applicants who will strive to participate in the most professional and positive manner possible. These internships involve long hours, hard work and hands-on experience. Internships are arranged for full-season (August-May), half-season or per-production basis. Pending qualifications, limited stipends or housing may be available in some departments.

LIGHTING DESIGN INTERNSHIP:
Ideal for a student desiring to complement his/her educational background with practical experience while working towards a career as a professional lighting designer. The intern works with resident and guest professional staff members during the season. Focus is placed on drafting, equipment maintenance, electrics, special effects, and organization as well as any special projects that may be necessary for the specific needs of a production.

SCENE PAINTING INTERNSHIP:
The intern is expected to have background experience in scene painting methods. The DCTC offers an opportunity for the intern to gain knowledge of techniques used in thrust, proscenium and in-the-round theaters. The student will be challenged with the need to find creative solutions to unconventional design problems using both experimental and traditional techniques.

TECHNICAL PRODUCTION INTERNSHIP:
Available only to the most motivated student whose career goal is Technical Direction. The student will work in a master/apprentice relationship with the DCTC Technical Director, Shop Foreman, and Master Carpenter, learning a variety of disciplines ranging from fiscal management to creative invention of scenic solutions. A strong background in all areas of scenic construction is necessary.

PROPERTIES INTERNSHIP:
Almost every skill and discipline that is found in the theatre can be used to advantage in the prop shop. Because of the intimate nature of the DCTC theaters all props must be exquisitely crafted and finished. The intern will use techniques in welding, vacu-forming plastics, painting, carving, furniture construction and upholstery, and other craft skills.

SOUND INTERNSHIP:
The intern will learn the various aspects of sound design, ranging from live recording sessions, recorded music and effects, to the mixing of vocals and sound during a performance. The intern will work closely with the artistic staff and gain experience working in each of the different theaters of the complex.

SCENE DESIGN INTERNSHIP:
This internship is of interest to the scene design student wishing to improve graphic skills in architectural drafting, model building and painting while gaining experience working with both resident and guest designers from around the world. Intern responsibilities will include CAD drafting, model building, design and technical research in scenic, prop and scene painting areas.

STAGE MANAGEMENT/PRODUCTION INTERNSHIP:
Production interns work closely with professional stage managers organizing daily schedules, conducting rehearsals, attending design and production meetings, and focusing on the detail work surrounding productions. In addition to supporting the rehearsal process, the intern will perform a backstage assignment as a member of the running crew once the show moves into the theatre. This internship requires a full-time commitment by the applicant.

Interested applicants should send a cover letter and resume to: Dan McNeil, Denver Center Theatre Company, 1101 13th Street, Denver, CO 80204, dmcneil@dcpa.org.
