A successful Illinois community theatre is looking for a designer/technical director as a full-time position beginning immediately. Will accept show-by-show employment for 6 months. This requires experience and knowledge of set design, lighting design, construction, sound and props for 5 adult shows and 2 student theatre shows. Responsibilities include assuring a safe operation of the theatre and maintaining the theatre and stage area, recruiting volunteers, managing back stage personnel and volunteers to build and run shows, and maintain budgets as set-up by the theatre. The 11-year-old theatre seats 498 with a 42' proscenium, 16' apron, a fly system, computerized lighting and sound with 142 lighting instruments. QCT was founded in 1923 and sells 3,000 season tickets a year, and supports a theatre program covering a 75-mile radius in the tri-state area of Illinois, Missouri and Iowa.
